Moving? Maybe

For a very long time I have wanted to move to Sydney and the way unemployment is in my side of town it's the only way I can ever make a life for myself. I do allright with taking photos up there anyways.
Be warned kids LTTL won't be around much longer if a decent paycheck doesn't come my way soon. It probably won't mean goodbye forever, I'd just give top priority to bigger gigs so in a way I would be saying goodbye to local gigs.
There's so much photography work in Sydney, so we'll see how it goes. I would gladly vanish from the music scene for a $45k paycheck.
Yeah, I'm a sellout but I've also been unemployed for life.
Can you believe what's been holding me back was 3 cats, 1 dog and the freedom to go to a gig whenever I wanted to?
Real people work. Right now I do not exist.

You're down!

Two of the best words a photographer can hear...or read. This means that Faster Louder have chosen me to take photos of Gyroscope for them. I still have to receive confirmation from the venue/promoter, but it feels so good.

I haven't seen Gyroscope since July 2006. Last year when they played in Sydney FL sent me to Sounds in the Ground.

I love my new state editor. She's always giving me all these gigs to shoot. The older one did like me but I got ignored 60% of the time. I have been contributing to the site since 2005, so it's about time that I'm finally getting somewhere.

So, now I'm kind of thinking of taking photos of Even and The Mess Hall in the next couple of weeks.

I suppose I should go to more gigs. In May I'll have to take a little break (apart from Gyroscope, Kisschasy, Devil Wears Prada/Story of the Year) because I've got four pets to take care of. If I just leave them for a few days and go to Sydney Animal Welfare might come by.

By June I really want to have the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens for Come Together. If not then
August for Panic at the Disco.
Beautiful, innit?

The Gin Club + Mike Noga and the Gentlemen of Fortune

My final shoot for awhile. Well, May 16 to be more precise. I went once again to Annandale Hotel after being invited by Pat from Dallas Crane to take photos of Mike Noga and the Gentlemen of Fortune, which was the band Pat was playing in while Dallas Crane were taking some time off.
This had to be the 15th time I'd been to Annandale Hotel this year, which was ok because it means I get to sleep in an actual house not Division St* aka Marrickville.

*Division St is a song by Thursday about a street where there a lot of crimes and drugs, etc. I nicknamed Marrickville Division St because how unsafe it makes me feel. And I grew up in my own Division St.

I went to my sisters house in Annandale first where my niece was playing Tony Hawks Downhill Jam on Nintendo Wii. I get so addicted to this game and I almost lost track of time while playing it.
But I turned up early to Annandale Hotel as usual.
The last couple of gigs I was at were Avalon Drive, Horsell Common and Thursday so at this gig I couldn't help feeling like a 16 year old.

Anyway, The Gin Club and Mike Noga were awesome. The opening act were pretty good too.

So now I'm going to be a 16 year old all over again when I take photos of such bands as Gyroscope, The Getaway Plan, Kisschasy, and Panic at the Disco.

Uncharted Grand Final @ Oxford Arts Factory, Sydney, April 1st

It's not everyday my friends win an award. It's not everyday that they get signed to Sony BMG. That's just what happened on tuesday night.

I photographed Uncharted Live, thinking it was going to be another show to shoot where I'd have to dodge the video cameras. It was but so much more.

One of the best gigs of the year and I have Avalon Drive to thank for that.
The Uncharted Grand Final was held at Oxford Arts Factory and broadcast live on MTV. The Glass Ceiling and Avalon Drive played a few songs live and then the winner was announced. Special guests Evermore played live. And in true Oxford Arts fashion the after show turned into a night club.
